Many students ask who is responsible for issuing official SETA or ETDP SETA certificates. This page explains the role of Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW, the role of training providers, and the role of the official issuing authority.
Edu-Build Does Not Issue Official SETA Certificates
Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW does not issue official SETA or ETDP SETA certificates.
No training provider, campus, facilitator, branch, or delivery partner issues official SETA certificates independently.
The official certificate is issued by the relevant authority, such as ETDP SETA, after the required assessment, moderation, verification, endorsement, and certification processes have been completed.
Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW is responsible for programme delivery, learner support, assessment preparation, learner administration, and submission of required information through the correct channels.

We are part of the delivery and support process. We are not the official certificate-issuing authority.
The Certificate Comes From the Relevant Authority
The official certificate is issued by the relevant authority linked to the qualification process.
For ETDP SETA-linked qualifications, the certificate process sits with ETDP SETA after the required learner results and quality assurance processes have been completed.
This means the official certificate is not printed or issued by Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW. It must come through the correct authority process.
A Simple Example
Think of It Like a Matric Certificate
School / Institute

Learner is formally assessed and files are submitted for moderation.
Issuing Authority
The official authority issues the certificate once requirements are met.
A learner writes matric exams at a school. The school teaches, supports, and prepares the learner, but it does not issue the official matric certificate. The final certificate is issued through the national education and quality assurance process. The exact same principle applies to SETA and ETDP SETA certificates: the training provider delivers the programme, while the relevant authority issues the final certificate.

Can Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW issue my SETA certificate?
No. Edu-Build Institute WC, EC & NW cannot issue official SETA / ETDP SETA certificates. Official certificates are issued by the relevant authority after the required process has been completed.
Why did I study with a provider if the provider does not issue the certificate?
The provider delivers the programme, supports learning, manages learner evidence, and submits information through the correct process. The official certificate comes from the relevant authority.
Is this like matric certificates?
Yes. A school teaches and prepares learners, but the official certificate comes through the official education and quality assurance process. The same principle applies to SETA / ETDP SETA certificates.
Does a delay mean my qualification is invalid?
No. A delay does not automatically mean your qualification is invalid. It may mean that administration, verification, moderation, endorsement, or certificate issuing is still in process.

Can a facilitator promise when my certificate will arrive?
No. Facilitators cannot issue certificates and should not promise certificate dates. The issuing process depends on the relevant authority.
What should I do if I am still waiting?
Gather your full name, ID number, programme, campus, year of completion, and any completion or submission evidence. Then contact the correct office or authority pathway for follow-up.
Does Edu-Build WC, EC & NW accept responsibility for supporting students?
Yes. We accept responsibility for honest communication, learning support, and guidance. We do not accept responsibility for issuing official SETA certificates because that function does not sit with us.
